A few pictures below of some domain sightings on a recent trip to Bogota, Colombia. I’ve never seen such a mixture of extensions in my other trips to South or Central American countries (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, etc). From what I saw, .com dominates, but there is a wide variety of extensions in use, including:

  • .com
  • .net
  • .org
  • .info
  • .co
  • .com.co
  • .gov.co
  • .travel
  • .edu.co

This is by no means a scientific survey of the most prominent extensions, but it’s my photo diary of what I saw as a tourist.

Nice!!!! It looks like from what you are posting they are going with .com more.

I go to Brazil a lot and over the last decade it really seems they are going for .com more and more and using .com.br less and less.

I guess we could look at the reg stats to confirm.

Your going to see the .co take off more as it will now be shorter name to us from .co.uk to just .co
